A car of my own

Finally! Here’s a pic for any of you that wanted to see what it looks like. Now everyone just needs to send me some money so I can start upgrading it. First on the list: fix the crappy speakers.

My new civic

From Ferrell to Farrell

My mom is a godmother. She acts mostly like a regular mother, however, on some occassions, she does indeed resemble a godmother as well. Today was one of those days. Ironically enough (or not) the Farrells (from our church) chose her to be the godmother of the newest member in their family, Gretchen.

It was Gretchen’s first birthday today so the Farrells and the Ferrells and everyone in between had plenty of reason to celebrate. There was laughing and dancing and toy trains and forts and fake kitchens and messes and everything else that kids do best. Always a good time :)

Here’s Gretchen doing her best to get the cake in her mouth.

And this is Liam. After pummeling the mats mercilessly for about half an hour, I stood them up so he had a fort. He insisted that no fort would ever be complete without a door (or, in his words “door!”) so I made sure they opened up on one side and he was quite relieved.

I’m dreaming of a white Thanksgiving….

It’s snowing like mad. So I hope it’s not going in my window, cause I don’t think I closed it.

Oh and concerning the idea that I might be “dreaming” of anything, yea it just ain’t happening. I haven’t been able to sleep in 2 days. I just lay in my bed and it’s frickin COLD in my house so that isn’t helping any. I think I actually might have slept for like…2 hours, this morning because I don’t remember seeing the sun come up *again*.

You ever feel like you’re not really awake but you’re not really asleep either? That’s not how I feel. I’m definitely awake. And I have a headache.

I talked to my half-brother, Sean, yesterday. I haven’t talked to him for 5 years and I haven’t seen him in at least 10. It was weird. He’s 30-something now and he does pretty much the same stuff I do (except for the college part). We talked about how the cell phone companies are releasing sdk’s so anyone can develop java software for them (which I’m sure no one else in the *world* even cares about). He also went out and got Half-Life 2 and spent 30 minutes throwing cans at people in the beginning of the game…and I laughed, cause that’s what I did too. He told me what happened when he dropped out of college (all I’d heard about that was from my parents – “don’t make bad choices like Sean, stay in college”). He started his own company and made $350,000 in a year. He says he’s gonna get World of Warcraft so he can play with me and Greg. That should be fun :)

Tomorrow morning we’re heading to St. Louis to visit cousins and eat an over-abundance of food. Although, as some of you know, this isn’t a change from their normal eating habits. Oh well, should be fun. Getting back friday night. Don’t know when I’m going back to school though. I want to be there now. I have too much stuff to study and for now, I’m actually excited about it because it’s almost the end of the semester.

Currently excited by: the end of the semester

Ah it will be great. A 3 week break with no obligations. Just sitting around, and …well, that’s probably it.

It’s about time, eh chaps?

Guess what, long time, no update. Surprise, surprise. Been busy though. We got back from quakecon on monday and I worked tuesday, wednesday, and thursday. Yesterday I drove down to university of illinois and helped Lauren move in. That was fun. Except for the part where a jeep ran into me on the highway. That dude was pretty crazy…especially since he actually managed to run into me with a jeep (pretty light) with 4 wheel drive (pretty easy to stop) in a traffic jam on the highway (i don’t know how he managed to be going too fast to stop). Oh well, he just made a dent in the back of the van so I don’t think it hurt any of Lauren’s stuff and I didn’t get hurt either. Besides that, everything went well. After I finished unpacking all of Lauren’s dishes (which took a long time, she has waaaay too many dishes) I met up with Jeff and we skated around the campus and made fun of drunk people at the bars and other people wandering around trying to play capture the flag at 2am. I also got to see the arboretum, the underground library, the experimental corn plot, and just about every part of campus (which is an understatement, because it’s very very big…but i did see a lot of stuff and it was very awesome to skate around everywhere).

So that’s a little random post about what i’ve been up to lately. More later.

PS, only 5 more days till i go back. i can’t wait :) i miss everyone…well…some people more than others…and some, a *lot* more than others

UPDATE, i found the blue thing again so here’s some pictures…

i took a few pics at petsmart (where we went to look at birds). there was a funny rodent (don’t remember what it was, but it was funny) that was chillin on top of it’s water bottle

this bird was crazy, all hanging upside down and from one foot and showing off and all…guess no one wants him cause he’s 550 dollars!!!!

i grabbed a cactus in target…although i did it very slowly and carefully so i didn’t hurt myself…but it still looks painful…

lauren found a hat with a weiner on it

there would have been some other interesting pictures…if i would have predicted that i would actually post these online…but that’s all you get, cause i was lazy…
