Self-Replicating Robot

Found this linked from slashdot. It’s some fun stuff. I’d love to have one of these things in my house to impress the ladies (though I’d still have to get the ladies here to see it somehow…) It doesn’t do much other than take pieces of itself and build …itself all over again! But that’s pretty dang sweet if you ask me.

I’m obsessive so I re-encoded the video to a smaller quicktime one that you can just click on and watch.

And if you really want the original one, here’s the link to that. (It even has sound too, somehow quicktime killed that part…)

Animals should not try to act like people.

Super!

Wow. It says Thursday (hmm, 05/05/05) on my clock…which means tomorrow, I will see Trent Reznor. I’m pretty excited. It’ll be awesome. OH SNAP! YES! Sorry, that was supposed to be part of the same thought.

The new album is awesome too. The leaked mp3s don’t do it justice at ALL. Well, unless you don’t have a 1000 watt surround sound stereo in your living room…then you’re probably not missing much with just the mp3s. But alas, if you DO have a 1000 watt surround sound stereo (well… 500 watts most of the time.. 1000 at the peak if I’m trying to test the foundation of the building…) there’s so much more to this album it’s CRAZY! And this was $11.99 at Best Buy. That’s so cheap. There’s lots of extra stuff on it too like videos and …other stuff too, I haven’t really checked it out because we had to watch The Incredibles but I got to see some good stuff anyway. The surround-sound enhanced songs that I did hear were really awesome. It’s not just a noise in the back every once in a while, the songs are mixed to take full advantage of all the speakers.

I’m really tired and I think I should go to sleep now.

I took this 2 nights ago with my new camera that I love.

What a BEA-utiful day

Not an “oh it’s warm lets go play outside” kinda day but more like a “it’s cold, I had way too many things to do today and I’m lovin’ it!” I literally didn’t stop moving the whole day; Woke up at 8:30 so I could see about getting a parking permit, found out I don’t need one till next week, went to class at 10, bookstore after that, got a check to pay for rent, went to parkview for work, studying, etc, stopped by Subway on the way back and then dropped off my check when I arrived. Total elapsed time: 13 hours. So that was a fun day. I took some pictures over at parkview when I was leaving. I wanted to see how well the “night mode” fared on my camera. It did very nicely, in fact.
First, here’s some free cds of Ubuntu. Totally free, check it out here. They pay for everything, printing, burning, shipping. High quality stuff. </endplug>

Free Ubuntu CDs

Here’s what’s left of the cars at 9pm in the summer. Oh yea, it’s just me…

Parkview parking lot: 9pm

Took a few pics out in front of parkview. This one turned out pretty nice. It’s a time-lapse photo as the bus drives by.

And, on a sadder note, it looks like Subway will be discontinuing the Sub Club. No more free subs when you buy a drink… (which wasn’t that good of a deal in the first place, but who’s counting). On the plus side, they still give out stamps till May 9th, so I got some tonight. I’ll probably be able to live for a few weeks on the stamps I’ve collected. (Those are good until August 9th)

Sub Club gone forever?
