Too much free time, or genius…you decide.

I figured out that I can hold 52 instant message boxes open on my screen, unobstructed by each other or other windows, and sizeable enough to see the text. *That*, my friends, is no small feat. Sometime I might try to beat this record-breaking achievement…but I’d have to be even more bored than I am now and I don’t want to think about that…

oh and i’m using trillian with the kUMBs skin (kimae ultra minimalistic black)…that’s why there’s no pretty buttons or other useless features.

Interesting things have come to light.

Not as interesting as the title, I’m sure, but they’re interesting nonetheless. Here’s a couple pictures I found on my laptop.

This one is from a while ago when Kris responded to my comment about hanging out somewhere at some time with some people…don’t remember specifics. However, Google, being the little pimp that it is…brought up these ads (oh and i cut out the middle to make the pic smaller…also, notice how the ad actually makes sense in terms of the words used: “we should do it again”, “didn’t get anything done” (i think i cut off that last part)…google makes me laugh):

I took this pic just a little while ago. To any of you who don’t read slashdot regularly, this probably won’t make any sense. But those of you “in the know” will take this as a true sign of the end of the world…or a least a bit of a bump in the network services of slashdot.

oh and i’m finally going home! yay! but my dad’s in the hospital for high blood pressure and pending tests for pre-heart attack conditions…so hopefully everything turns out alright

Greetings from Iceland!

It’s FREEZING outside. Like, my face literally froze when we walked to lunch. Don’t ask me *why* we walked to lunch…but you would probably do the same thing after 3 days of pizza. I mean, the food places aren’t really that far away either, so it wasn’t too bad. The hallway outside our office is really hot too, like 190 degrees is what my boss said it was, so that’s really hot.

It looks like more people are getting livejournals. I’m glad. Well, I’m glad they’re getting “blogs”, but in blog-world, I’d say livejournal is the lowest of forms. Once my paid membership expires, I’ll have had time to explore other options and I’ll be able to get away from this horrid wreck of a social network. Movable Type is a cool one. And of course, there’s always Google’s Blogger. Haven’t found any that I’m really happy with though…I need open source…or at least one that can be really REALLY customized. (as if I even had time to customize this one to the fullest extent…)

In other news, today is a good day. Still trying to figure out my plans for new years but I’m sure they’ll work out somehow. Heck, I’m still trying to figure out my plans for a ride home…which was supposed to be 20 minutes ago…

This deserves a post…

A word from the employed.

“We have no problem funding your web site, Frank. Of all the chicken farmers operating web sites, yours has the most impressive cluck-through rate.”

20 minutes left.

Google is simply one of the most amazing pieces of technology on the planet. I refer to it as one entity because, in fact, it is. At least, that’s what I would call it if *I* was the lucky guy who got to sit behind the power that is: hundreds of thousands of servers scrambling through several library-of-congresses every second. And I’d be getting paid a lot of money.

For now, I’ll just have to marvel at it’s magnificence and pick up the scraps it leaves for lowly small businesses along the way.

I’ve been working on our search engine placement and keyword advertising all day. That’s really why I’m talking about Google, I’m not in love with it or anything.

It’s a lot of work. So far today we have like… 3 clicks on the new keywords today…but I don’t know which ones, or where they came from. Google knows…it just won’t tell me.

Basically, Adam is my new best friend. He signed up for my free flat screen (link). I think I’m gonna do something special like a lottery for all the people that help me get it. $50 bucks cash or something, eh? eh? Anyone in? Well do it then.

Peace out, player. (i watched garden state again this weekend…i still hate the ending…)
